Dr. Tom FitzStephens
Music Director and Conductor
Dr. Tom FitzStephens holds a Bachelor of Choral Music Education from The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, a Master of Music in Conducting from Michigan State University’s College of Music, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Teaching and Learning from Georgia State University. He studied conducting with Dr. Jerry Blackstone, Dr. Sandra Snow, Dr. Jonathan Reed, and Dr. David Rayl, and voice with George Irving Shirley and Molly Fillmore. Dr. FitzStephens currently serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, and has taught middle and high school music since 2004. He also serves at choir director for Oakhurst Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. He lives in Decatur with his wife, Jamie, their cat, Snickers, and dog, Stella.
Leanne Herrmann
Accompanist
Leanne Herrmann has served as the Accompanist for Harmonia Atlanta since 1988. She is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She works throughout the metro Atlanta area as a freelance accompanist and chamber music pianist. Ms. Herrmann is currently the accompanist for the Collegium Vocale and the Summer Singers of Atlanta, and is the staff pianist for Paideia School and organist at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She has appeared in concert with the Gwinnett Festival Singers, the Gwinnett Young Singers, the Young Singers of Callanwolde, and the William Baker Festival Singers.
